2018 marks the last year model for the Focus RS and Ford is sending with an explosion, the revelation of the new limited edition take on the fan-Favorite. Taking cues from the enthusiasts, Ford has employed a number of upgrades as standard in the new vehicle. Uniting the usual 2.3-Liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine-capable of 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque-are the likes of a limited slip mechanical Quaife differential for the front axle and the equipment of the current RS2 package, including voice-controlled navigation, Recaro seats, seat warmers, and a heated steering wheel. Glossy black finishes have also been added to the roof, mirror tops, and rear spoiler, while the hot side mirrors and carbon fiber accents are bonded with Premium forged 19-inch painted alloy wheels, Complete with blue “RS” brand center caps. Ford has even released a new color in the mix, adding a “Red race” option along with the signature of the vehicle “Blue Nitro.”

2018 Ford Focus RS Specifications

Of all Ford models, maybe none offers as much variety as the focus, a compact that comes in two body styles and six ornaments and can be had with five different thrusters. As the focus is almost certain redesigned soon–this design goes back to 2012–returns for 2018 unchanged to those varied offerings. The approach is available as a sedan and hatchback. An input level adjustment S is only sedan, while SE, SEL and titanium come in any way. A pair of St and RS folded performance models are sold only as hatchbacks, as well as the electric battery-powered spotlight.

Engine options start with a four-cylinder 2.0 L engine that makes 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of standard coming torque in the S, SE, SEL and titanium models. You can opt for the SE sedan with a 1.0 L turbo three-cylinder good for 123 HP and 125 lb-ft. The St models use a 2.0 L four-cylinder EcoBoost turbo with a value of 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, and the RS gets its 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of a 2.3 L turbo four. The Focus Electric engine makes 143 HP and 184 lb-ft.

The transmissions are a five-speed manual in the S and SE, a six-speed manual in sedans with the 1.0 L engine and an optional six-speed automatic on the cars and standard on the SEL and titanium models. Both St and RS models get a six-speed manual, with the RS also get standard AWD. The electric spotlight puts your energy on the road through a single-speed automatic transmission.

See what we mean about the variety?

While Ford has given the current generation focus only slight upgrades since its 2012 introduction, it still looks good and drives very well. Its major deficits are a sung interior and the hatchback’s small trunk. S Sedan is a price leader, so we consider the SE to be the real starting point for this car, where the standard kit includes air conditioning, keyless entry, six-way driver and four way front passenger seat adjustments. , 16-inch aluminum wheels and a backup camera.

Ford will allow you the choice of your approach with things like active park assistance, heated steering wheel and front seats and remote start, but visible by your absence is the lack of advanced security features. The lack of lane exit warning with steering aid is a strange thing, too, considering the active parking system starts up the hardware to make that feature possible.

Fuel consumption estimates for the 1.0 L models are 7.9/5.9 L/100 km (city/highway) with the Stickshift, and 8.5/6.2 with the automatic. Cars 2.0 L are rated 9.5/6.9 with five-speed manual and 8.9/6.1 with automatic. The ST 2.0 L turbo is rated 10.5/7.8, and RS estimates are 12.2/9.0. The electric spotlight consumes electric at a speed of 2.0 le/100 km in driving city and 2.5 on the road.

The RS 2018 approach will be limited to only 1,500 production models in North America-1,000 for the United States and 500 for Canada-and will be available to order at the end of this summer with scheduled deliveries for the last part of 2017. Look for an announcement the official prices coming from Ford in the near future, as the American car manufacturer will begin to take command of the summer. The deliveries of the 2018 Ford Focus RS should begin later this year.
