Ford is slowly launching more details about his new small truck due to go into production later this year. The 2019 Ford Ranger will make 270 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque of its turbocharged 2.3 liters four-cylinder, the automobiles unveiled today.

The Ranger produces more torque than any other medium-sized, gas-powered pickup truck on the market. That includes trucks with more robust V-6 engines. The V-6-Powered Chevrolet Colorado Maxes out at 275 lb-ft, while the V-6 Toyota Tacoma Tops out at 265 lb-ft. Colorado diesel, however, pumps out 369 lb-ft.

At the launch, the four cylinders will be the only engine available in the Ranger here in the U.S. It is unclear whether Ford will launch a diesel at a later date. All Rangers in our market are matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford also revealed tow numbers and payload. When equipped with an optional tow package and a tow-brake controller, the Ranger has a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 lbs, more than any gas truck in its class. The Colorado and Tacoma gas-Powered max out at 7,000 lbs and 6,800 lbs, respectively, although the Colorado diesel can transport up to 7,700 lbs. Ranger’s maximum payload is 1,860 lbs, the highest rating of any current medium-sized pickup.

As reported above, the 2019 Ford Ranger starts at $25,395. Although it will not reach the dealerships until the beginning of next year, the order books are already open. There are three clipping levels available: XL, XLT, and Lariat.

From the outside, the Ranger is quite a general property. Expanded round wheel arches and a gradient similar to the obscure large F-150 are the only true signs of the character. Like the Chevrolet, Ford didn’t choose to turn its medium-sized truck into a Mini version of its full-size model. Ranger 2019 will be available with a half-tailgate and four full-size doors respectively in SuperCab or super crew configurations.

The Ranger will be offered with a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The EcoBoost engine is connected to the same 10-speed automatic transmission as the standard rear-wheel drive or the optional four-wheel drive, which is used in the F-150. As most competitors offer multiple power transfer options, Ford can add other engines to the artist at a future date.

Horsepower is less than the V6 versions of the Toyota Tacoma (278 hp) and Chevrolet Colorado (308 hp), but Ford offers much more torque than any truck. Toyota did Chevy 275, can only collect 265 lb-ft. However, Chevy also offers a four-cylinder diesel that produces 369 lb-ft (the same figures apply to color GMC Canyon Twin). The Nissan Frontier V6 is 261 hp and 281 lb-ft.

Ford claims the Ranger will have a load capacity of 1,860 lbs and a maximum capacity of 7,500 lbs when properly equipped. Both numbers highlighted the Ranger from most of the other medium-sized cars, but Chevy Colorado could pull up to 7.700 pounds.

The main reason for offering a four-cylinder turbo engine instead of V6 is fuel economy. Ford claims that the Ranger’s rear-wheel drive would take 23 mpg (21 mpg city, 26 mpg road) and 22 mpg (20 mpg city, 24 mpg road) with all-wheel drive. These figures put fuel in front of competitors who use gas, although in some cases there is a small margin. However, the Chevy Colorado diesel is still the champion of fuel economy with 25 mpg (22 mpg city, 30 mpg road) with rear wheel drive and 23 mpg (20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway) along with all-wheel drive.

When launched, the Ranger will acquire an optional FX4 OFF-Road package, including a land management system derived from the F-150 Raptor. Like similar systems offered by many other manufacturers, Ford automatically adapts different vehicle configurations for different terrain configurations. The FX4 package also includes Trail control, which serves as off-road cruise control by accelerating and braking on uneven terrain. There is still no information as to whether America will be able to achieve the current Ranger Raptor performance model for international markets.

Like the larger Ford trucks, Ranger will also be offered a series of driver assistance features. This list includes independent emergency brake, lane-hold assistance, lane exit warning, blind spot monitoring (even with a fixed trailer) and adaptive speed monitoring. Technological features include the current Amazon Alexa connection, an integrated Wi-Fi port and Apple screen and compatibility with Android Auto.

Ford Ranger 2019 will start production this year. The truck will be built alongside Ford’s new version of the Bronco SUV at the Michigan assembly plant in Wayne. Ford dealers are currently taking orders for Ranger, prices start at $ 25,395.
