Ford Australia has confirmed that it is important 500 Focus RS limited edition of the All Wheel Drive (AWD) Hatches in November, each using a price tag of $56 990-$ 6000 upstream of the regular model.

For extra cash, buyers get a Quaife differential from the limited-skid front (LSD) to send better power from the turbocharged four-cylinder power station 2.3 litres to the road.

According to Ford, helical mechanical LSD has been designed to improve traction and cornering, using gears rather than clutches for smoother operation.

“Our new limited-edition RS approach represents an accessible performance in its best expression,” said Ford performance chief Jamal Hameedi.

“The improvement of the dynamics of conduct of Focus RS is not a small task, but our performance Ford engineers have delivered a transmission capable of press every drop of the performance of the engine.”

Also standard in the new limited edition model are lightweight 19-inch forged alloy rims wrapped in sticky 235/35 Michelin pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres-an optional $3500 package in the standard RS approach.

Aesthetically, the limited-edition RS approach differs from the standard version by ‘ Blue Nitro ‘ DUCO – a $500 option in the standard hatch – and a bright black roof, side mirrors and ceiling mounted rear spoiler.

Indoors, the new Focus RS acquires Recaro bucket seats with nitrous blue details to match the paint. A 8.0 inch multimedia system ‘ SYNC3 ‘ is located at the top of the center stack.

The engine running remains unchanged with 257kW of power and torque 440Nm (470Nm with an excessive boost function) produced of the 2.3 litre four-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine.

The power is sent to the four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, resulting in an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h of 4.7 seconds.

Selectable drive modes – including the infamous Drift mode – Adjust the steering, engine, and exhaust settings with shocks altered by a separate button.
