2024 Ford F350 we haven’t seen much from Ford regarding the next Super Duty pickup truck. Rest assured, an updated model is coming which will offer significant updates both inside and out.
Thanks to the crew at TFLNow, we have the best view so far of what’s really going on under the heavy camouflage wrap.
A reader snapped photos and video of a Super Duty prototype in Kingman, Arizona, which is likely undergoing hot weather testing.
It could also explain why heavy camouflage is missing from the grille on this rig, as the deserts of western Arizona tend to be a bit hot this time of year.
2024 Ford F350: Featuring Updated Grille Prototype review
We didn’t see much, but it’s clear that the designers took a more assertive approach to the face of Super Duty.
The rectangular grille has a similar design to that of the F-150 Platinum, suggesting that this is a higher trim model. The driving lights visible on the lower bumper further support that theory.
It’s unclear whether the S-shaped trim around the headlights is a product feature or more for camouflage.
Previous spy shots had kept the lens well covered, but taking a closer look, we didn’t see an S-shape under the cover.
However, it’s easy to see the overall square shape of the headlights, again mirroring what we saw on the F-150.
The less glamorous black steel wheels are barely visible at the front, suggesting the mission for this truck is heavy-duty road testing.
We don’t expect the next Super Duty to be a completely new model. The bones should carry over from the current model, along with the familiar engine options that might be coupled with a new hybrid configuration.
The truck currently offers a choice of a 6.2-liter or 7.3-liter V8 petrol engine or a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel that produces 475 horsepower (354 kilowatts) and 1,050 pound-feet (1,424 Newton-meters) of torque.
A disguised Ford Super Duty prototype has been hanging around for the past year or so. As such, we believe Ford will debut the updated model later this year or early next year as the 2023 or 2024 model.
