2027 Ford Bronco: Despite its horse-like name, the Ford Bronco is actually a chameleon. Wherever you choose to take it, from the roughest trails in Johnson Valley to the smooth paved highways leading there, the Bronco blends in and handles with dashing style. The Bronco comes in two- and four-door versions, and besides being a decent everyday driver, it can do everything a Jeep Wrangler can when it gets muddy.
In addition to its extensive capabilities, the Bronco offers nearly limitless configurations and is available with a fixed or convertible top, removable doors, and a variety of optional packages to meet a variety of wants and needs.
All Broncos have all-wheel drive and either a turbocharged four-cylinder or twin-turbocharged V6 engine for power, and while neither is particularly fuel-efficient or produces a particularly pleasant engine sound, they are still agile and responsive. With its versatile approach, the Bronco proves to be both a fun lifestyle vehicle and a capable rugged terrain explorer.
2027 Ford Bronco Review
Ford has several iconic vehicles in its lineup, and the Bronco is among them. The Bronco’s legacy began in the 1960s with the original version, and the nameplate was revived in 2021 with the current generation.

Available in two- and four-door body styles, all with removable roofs and doors, regardless of equipment, the Bronco is designed for off-road capability and driving fun.
- A charming classic look
- The roof and doors are removable
- Designed for off-road fun
- Incredible versatility on all terrains, a huge selection of models and packages, a better everyday vehicle than a Jeep Wrangler.
Whats New
For 2027, a new Bronco RTR joins the lineup, positioning itself between the rugged Badlands and the more extreme Raptor variants in the off-road vehicle hierarchy. Ford will announce other changes across the 2027 Bronco lineup at a later date.
The new 2027 Ford Bronco RTR has been added to the existing lineup, promising even better off-road capabilities than the standard Bronco. The RTR comes standard with 33-inch all-terrain tires, an upgraded high-clearance suspension, and improved engine response from the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine thanks to new anti-lag turbo programming.
Like many other Bronco variants, the RTR is available with the Sasquatch package, which adds larger 35-inch all-terrain tires and a more capable HOSS 3.0 suspension setup with Fox internal bypass shocks.
Visually, the new model features the 2027 Ford Bronco’s unique front grille and comes with Hyper Lime accents on the hood graphic, body armor, and RTR-specific 17-inch wheel rims that lock onto the tires. The RTR is positioned at the top of the Bronco’s trim hierarchy for 2027, but Ford says its starting price will be lower than that of the Badlands Sasquatch.
What We Think
The 2027 Ford Bronco is incredibly stylish, and undeniably cool, the Bronco may not be the best SUV for most drivers.

For off-road driving, the Bronco is hard to beat. It’s designed specifically for rugged trails, and is one of the most capable factory-powered off-road vehicles on the market. In Raptor spec, it’s probably the most capable factory-powered off-road vehicle on the market, and the new 2027 RTR model is no slouch.
However, this isn’t a crossover. In everyday situations, the Bronco’s off-road-oriented character is actually a weakness. On the highway, the handling is a bit rough, and at high speeds on the highway, the cabin becomes noisy.

Ford offers useful technology and features, but the vehicle’s body-on-frame construction limits its layout and cargo space. Furthermore, fuel economy is poor, and the Bronco Hybrid is currently just a rumor.
The Ford Bronco is certainly appealing, but drivers need to be realistic about what it offers and how they plan to use it. A regular SUV can’t match the Bronco’s coolness, but it’s likely to perform better in most situations.
2027 Ford Bronco Interior
Despite the considerable wind noise, the front seats are comfortable and spacious, eliciting no complaints from even our most experienced staffers during our 40,000-mile long-term Bronco test.

The cabin is filled with hard plastics, which never feel luxurious, but we understand why Ford uses them: This is a tough, open vehicle—note the doors and removable roof—and those materials are impact-resistant. Ford also offers rubberized flooring and marine-grade vinyl upholstery for those who plan to regularly expose the interior to the elements.
Even in the four-seat, two-door Bronco, there’s enough rear space to comfortably accommodate two adults. The second row of the four-door Bronco can accommodate three people and offers significantly more legroom.
The four-door version’s cargo area is larger than the two-door version and can accommodate all of the SUV’s removable doors. If you want to remove the two-door Bronco’s doors while traveling, you’ll have to fold down the rear seats to get it home.
Tech
A 12.0-inch touchscreen running Ford’s Sync 4 software occupies the center of the dashboard. This screen receives over-the-air updates and allows users to connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly.

Many New 2027 Ford Broncos come with built-in navigation, and some offer better audio systems than the standard seven-speaker setup.
- Infotainment system: 12.0-inch touchscreen
- Connectivity: Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
- Audio System: 7-speaker stereo (standard), 12-speaker B&O stereo (optional)
2027 Ford Bronco Redesign
The good folks at the “AutoYa” info channel on YouTube have a branch channel called “AutoYa Interior,” where all the CGI Ford action is, with the channel’s hosts discussing how it’s the perfect time for a 2027 Ford Bronco facelift since the sixth-generation U725 arrived in 2021 and has so far relied solely on incremental model year updates, new trim levels, or special edition versions.

The channel’s host spotted a 2027 Ford Bronco being tested, featuring a new grille, and also thought there might be new things for the interior: “a bigger screen, a new steering wheel, new color options, and we have an idea to put an extra-wide screen behind the panel to expand the functionality of the infotainment system.”

Then, the channel’s graphic experts took over, showcasing an unofficial hypothetical design project from the outside and inside, complete with a new, longer mesh grille, new alloy wheels, gloss black trim elements, chrome mirror caps, and a few interior additions, such as a larger center screen and a possible display in the windshield.

Of course, there are also plenty of luxurious colors in the classic color options in the channel, both inside and out.
As for what’s under the hood, rumors suggest that Ford CEO Jim Farley himself has confirmed that a hybrid option is currently under development, and its launch alongside the 2027 model year refresh would likely be timely in rekindling customer interest in this rugged mid-size SUV.
2027 Ford Bronco Engine
The 330-hp 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the four-cylinder is available with a seven-speed manual transmission if you prefer manual transmissions. Unfortunately, neither engine boasts an exhilarating roar.
This is a true off-road vehicle, with a four-wheel drive system that the driver must activate when going off-road and, more importantly, deactivate when returning to paved roads.
The 2027 Ford Bronco is expected to feature an independent front suspension and well-calibrated steering, which will go a long way toward making this large SUV suitable for everyday use. Not only is the steering more precise than the Jeep Wrangler, which has a rigid rear axle at both ends, but the Ford also handles better overall and is capable of cruising on the highway without the constant steering corrections that are so tiring on the Jeep. However, like the Jeep, there is a lot of wind noise due to the upright windshield.
Notable options include large 35-inch mud tires, beadlock-capable wheels, electronically lockable front and rear differentials, and an anti-roll-bar disconnect feature to extend wheel travel.
- Engines: 300 hp 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, 330 hp 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V-6
- Transmission: 7-speed manual, 10-speed automatic
- Drive system: four-wheel drive
Performance
- 6.2 seconds (twin-turbo V-6), 7.1 seconds (turbo-four with automatic transmission), 7.4 seconds (turbo-four with 7-speed manual transmission)
2027 Ford Bronco Payload
- Maximum Towing Capacity: 3500 lbs
2027 Ford Bronco MPG
With the automatic transmission and four-cylinder engine, the Bronco gets the best fuel economy estimates, at 18 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. The manual transmission lowers highway fuel economy by 1 mpg.

Surprisingly, the six-cylinder Outer Banks is the most fuel-efficient Bronco in the city, with an estimated 19 mpg, but it achieves 21 mpg on the highway. However, adding the Sasquatch package brings the SUV’s fuel economy into the teens.
- EPA City Fuel Consumption Rating: 17-19 mpg
- EPA Highway Fuel Consumption Rating: 18-21 mpg
Competitor
- Jeep Wrangler
- Toyota 4Runner
- Honda Civic
- Land Rover Defender
2027 Ford Bronco Price
Pricing for the 2027 Ford Bronco is expected to start around $43,000 and go up to $63,000 depending on the trim and options selected.
The Big Bend trim is fairly basic, but the mid-range Black Diamond and Outer Banks trims offer more features. However, if you want to truly test your Bronco on challenging off-road terrain, the new RTR is a compelling option.
Ford says the 2027 Ford Bronco RTR has the highest suspension performance outside of the Bronco Raptor, and the RTR will likely cost about $13,000 less.
| Model | Prices |
| Base | $43,000 (est) |
| Big Bend | $44,000 (est) |
| Black Diamond | $48,000 (est) |
| Outer Banks | $51,000 (est) |
| Badlands | $52,000 (est) |
| Heritage Edition | $54,000 (est) |
| RTR | $57,000 (est) |
| Wildtrak | $63,000 (est) |
Verdict
The 2027 Ford Bronco is a wild and rugged horse off the beaten path, but a docile and well-behaved workhorse when dirt roads give way to paved roads. 2027 Ford Bronco continues to prove why it remains one of the most exciting off-road SUVs on the market today. With its rugged body-on-frame design, removable doors and roof, powerful turbocharged engine options, and the arrival of the new RTR variant, the Bronco delivers the kind of trail-ready capability that enthusiasts expect. It may not be the quietest or most fuel-efficient SUV on the highway, but once the pavement ends, the Bronco truly comes alive standing tall against rivals like the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota 4Runner, and Land Rover Defender.
Ford is still preparing more updates for the 2027 model year, so several final details remain to be confirmed. We’ll continue updating this article as new information becomes available.
