Next-Gen 2027 Ford Excursion Full-size SUV Reviews

Posted on

2027 Ford Excursion is a long-awaited vehicle that will make a big splash in the full-size SUV market. It will combine tough usefulness with high-end comfort. Families, adventurers, and people who like to tow will all love the 2027 Ford Excursion.

The three-row SUV Excursion 2027 changes how we think about power and presence. We expect Ford to give the Excursion a bigger interior and significant performance improvements that put it back at the top of its class.

2027 Ford Excursion Review

This model is a masterpiece. The Ford Excursion is a large SUV that makes an equally big impression, but its presence on the market is quite short. The Excursion was only around from 2000 to 2005 and was eventually discontinued due to its poor fuel economy at a time when gas prices were skyrocketing.

However, just because it’s been dead for over 20 years doesn’t mean we can’t dream a little, so Ford Authority (FA) is taking a stab at bringing the giant SUV back to life with the completely hypothetical New Ford Excursion.

Even this enthusiasm continues with the latest Rendering session, which presents a fresh and bold style. The imagined three-row SUV is the best of both worlds regarding heavy-duty hauling and a ride comfortable enough to keep the family comfortable.

2027 Ford Excursion

The design includes the Ford Excursion with its 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel engine, based on the Super Duty. Why not make it a high-output version? With 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque, the Excursion will have the same towing and payload capacity as the SD.

The FA team also gave it side exhausts just behind the rear wheels and borrowed the Super Duty’s upright, blunt nose, complete with a chrome front grille lifted straight from the Lariat trim. We also gave it large towing mirrors and chrome beltline trim, which mirrors the chrome door handles, giving the exterior a luxurious look.

In the rear, we’ve installed a split tailgate on the Ford Excursion. The glass door lifts, and we’ve also fitted it with a 50/50 split barn door that swings out, so you don’t have to deal with a very tall tailgate to access the cargo area.

However, we hope this design will be happy news that the 2027 Ford Excursion version can be present again to enliven the Ford line-up at the upcoming Showroom.

Key Features

The 2027 Excursion can tow 7,500 pounds, has four-wheel drive, and has an optional high-horsepower Power Stroke diesel engine. Its body-on-frame structure ensures that the vehicle will last for off-road and towing jobs. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree video system.

  • It tows a lot: up to 11,000 pounds with a diesel engine.
  • Seating for 8–9 people: Ample space in three rows.
  • SYNC5 Fun: Touchscreen with a sharp 15.5 inches and OTA updates.
  • Blue Cruise: Higher trims let you drive without using your hands.
  • Ford Co-Pilot360 with trailer assist is part of the advanced safety package.

What’s New

The 2027 Excursion is back after being absent for more than ten years. It boasts new technologies, a new exterior look, and a better chassis based on the Ford Super Duty platform. Ford has updated the SUV to meet today’s performance standards while keeping its classic look.

2027 Ford Excursion Updates

The 2027 model has new LED headlights, a motorized tailgate that opens and closes itself, better infotainment with SYNC 5, and more advanced driver assistance systems. There is also a more extended version with a longer wheelbase, with extra room for passengers and cargo.

2027 Ford Excursion Redesign

Ford has entirely changed the outside of the Excursion by adding bold, strong lines, a prominent front grille, and new LED headlamps that are unique to the brand. The frame has been strengthened to make the ride more comfortable and give you more confidence when driving off-road. The design strikes a good balance between aggressive looks and aerodynamic improvements.

The inside gets a total makeover with soft-touch materials, bigger digital screens, and high-end features like massaging seats, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting. This SUV is as luxurious as it is helpful because Ford pays attention to every detail.

2027 Ford Excursion Interior

The 2027 Excursion has the most room for passengers and adaptable freight arrangements. Built-in Wi-Fi, wireless charging, and tri-zone climate control improve the trip. The second and third rows fold down easily, making more room for cargo.

Comfort

Even if the suspension is stiff, passengers will love the three-zone climate control, comfortable seats, and smooth ride. Ford’s better tuning of the chassis ensures you’re comfy even while towing.

Storage

When the back seats are down, there should be roughly 145 cubic feet of cargo space, which is excellent for big things or outdoor gear. More storage space and cup holders help you keep your daily life in order.

Technology is the main focus, with a 15.5-inch central touchscreen, over-the-air software upgrades, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an optional entertainment system for the back seat. Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite ensures that every trip is safe and comfortable.

2027 Ford Excursion Exterior

The Excursion’s exterior resembles a Super Duty truck, with a big grille, LED lights, an aggressive attitude, and skid plates. Optional two-tone paint and chrome trim make the automobile stand out in any parking lot or trail.

2027 Ford Excursion Engine

The 6.7L Power Stroke turbo diesel engine has roughly 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque.

The Godzilla 7.3L V8 gasoline engine is said to have around 430 to 450 horsepower and 500 to 600 lb-ft of torque.
This powerplant is based on the Super Duty powertrain.

Performance

You should expect easy power when you pull a trailer or climb a slope. Early estimates say the diesel engine can go from 0 to 60 in about 7 seconds and can tow more than the competitors. BlueCruise makes long trips easier.

2027 Ford Excursion MPG

Ford has not yet confirmed the official EPA ratings. According to Super Duty’s figures, diesel might get mid-teens combined MPG.

2027 Ford Excursion Colors

Expected palette includes:

  • Oxford White
  • Agate Black
  • Iconic Silver
  • Red Metallic
  • Two-tone combos with black or silver roofs

2027 Ford Excursion Release Date

Ford hasn’t officially announced the release date for the New 2027 Ford Excursion yet, but we believe it will start in early 2027. We are convinced that this timing fits Ford’s plans for future vehicles.

Safety

Built on a strong platform and comes with Ford Co-Pilot360:
Automatic Emergency Braking and Help with Lane Keeping and Blind Spots
Alert for traffic coming from behind Adaptive Cruise Control with some self-driving characteristics
Help in backing up a trailer
Safety lies at the heart of this structure and sequence.

Verdict

The 2027 Ford Excursion fills a unique niche by combining elegance and technology with big-ticket capabilities. It has more room, better towing, and more diesel fuel than its primary competitors. It will use a lot of gas, but isn’t that part of what makes it so appealing? This is a game changer for families, RV owners, and anyone who needs space and electricity in one package.

It could be worth it to wait a few months or pre-order. We’ll be back soon with more on the 2025 Ford F250, so make sure you bookmark our website to stay updated with the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F150 news, and information on other Ford models on the road.
