2023 Ford Expedition: New Update Ford Expedition Enjoy 3rd Row Seating SUV Review

Posted on

2023 Ford Expedition planning to tow or haul a lot of stuff with your SUV? The 2023 Ford Expedition might be what you’re looking for. This large three-row SUV offers to seat for eight people and is one of the largest and most capable vehicles out there.

But it’s also highly refined and offers almost everything Ford supplies today in terms of technology, including the BlueCruise, which is a handy hands-free driver assistance system for use on certain highways.

Most of the Expedition’s powerful abilities come through its truck-based foundation. Ford says you can tow up to £9,300 with the Expedition when properly equipped. That’s enough to tow a trailer or a good-sized boat.

Or if you need space for a family trip or to help move house, there’s the Expedition Max body style with a long wheelbase and 121.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row seats.

The Expedition is one of the few large SUVs in existence. The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (plus the associated Suburban and Yukon XL) are the Expedition’s main rivals, but you could also consider the relatively new Jeep Wagoneer or Wagoneer L.

Toyota also released a redesigned Sequoia. What is the best max-size SUV for you? Read our test team’s Expert Ratings to find out how Expeditions are going.

  • Spacious interior with plenty of passenger and cargo space
  • Fast acceleration of the powerful V6 engine
  • Large standard display screen, or even larger optional screen
  • Attracts more than the same-sized SUV
  • No major changes are expected for 2023
  • Part of the fourth generation of Expeditions introduced in 2018

We were impressed with the muscle of the V6 engine. An SUV of this size can’t be this fast, can it? We tested the Expedition Platinum with 4WD, and it accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds.

That’s almost a second faster than a comparable Chevy Tahoe. The Expedition is responsive and easy to ride when you don’t put the gas pedal to the ground either.

The brake pedal is a little slippery when you first press it, but in the end, it’s pretty easy to stop smoothly, which is the important part. The steering is light on effort and helps make this Expedition feel a little less bulky.

While you probably won’t be driving your Expedition with the urgency of the Secret Service, there are some pretty awesome qualities here for an SUV of that size. It’s not a Mercedes GLS, but it doesn’t feel awkward.

The 2023 Ford Expedition is one of those SUVs that can do it all. This is an excellent family carrier with three rows of very spacious seats, plus a lot of cargo space. It also has truck-like capabilities with a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds with its twin-turbo V6 engine.

The expedition just got a thorough update for 2022 with fresher styling, new Timberline and Stealth trim, and major technology updates, including blue cruises’ hands-free road driving system.

To that end, we expect Expedition 2023 to be a carryover model without significant changes. The model range, price, and powertrain options should be about the same as the 2022 model.

With two wheelbases and a wide variety of trims available such as the off-road-ready Timberline, the luxurious Platinum, and more affordable bottom trim, there is an Expedition for everyone on the market for a full-size SUV that can transport the whole family while towing a boat without breaking a sweat.

  • Body style: SUV
  • Bore: 3.6″
  • Cargo volume: 20.9 to 63.6 ft³, 104.6 ft³ with seat area
  • Compression ratio: 10 to 10.5
  • Dimensions: 210″ L x 80″ W x 76-77″ H
  • Engine: 3.5 L V6

2023 Ford Expedition Review

The 2023 Expedition Expedition Ford is the largest and worst vehicle in Ford’s arsenal. This large three-row SUV is based on the Ford F-150, which means it uses a body-on-frame construction — the default choice for SUVs before car-based crossovers were ubiquitous.

2023 Ford Expedition

The foundation of the Expedition pickup truck gave him the strength to pull heavier equipment than the Ford Explorer crossover, but as a result, the journey was not interrupted.

This expeditionary generation began in 2018, and since its inception, Ford has done a good job of balancing the need for a rugged and capable SUV with the driving comfort that buyers expect from modern vehicles.

We don’t expect the 2023 Ford Expedition to be significantly different from last year’s model.

That’s because the 2022 Expedition introduced many new changes, including a larger touchscreen, the addition of a BlueCruise hands-free driving system, and a new Timberline trim, which is driven by a slightly less powerful engine version of the F-150 Raptor.

If Ford changes expedition 2023, it will likely be small randomization to standard or optional equipment. Buyers in the family-friendly SUV market can now check out the 2022 model.

2023 Ford Expedition Refresh

The Ford Expedition 2023 is just around the corner, and we expect it to be both capable and luxurious. Our preview guide is here to help you get to know this rugged full-size SUV a little better before it arrives later this year, in the fall of 2022.

After a series of updates for the 2022 model year — including the addition of hands-free BlueCruise driving technology and an off-road-ready Timberline trim model — we don’t expect to see any changes for 2023.

2023 Ford Expedition Redesign

For some models, like the very popular Ford F-150 Lightning truck or the Maverick pickup, you can order your truck online today. You can choose the color, trim, powertrain, and more online and Ford will build your truck.

However, with Expeditions, there is a simple form to fill out that provides your information to your local dealer so that when Expeditions are available, you can get help finding them. However, unlike other orders, you will have to negotiate with your local dealer about the price.

The Ford Expedition was completely redesigned for 2022. All new vehicles don’t usually get major updates early in their product cycle, so it should be a carryover SUV.

Today’s Expedition pricing starts at $53,375 and prices will remain the same for 2023.

Ford hasn’t announced any updates to the Expedition but in most cases, it does announce a special trim package or paint color, such as the ST package, which is only available for one year.

2023 Ford Expedition Specs

The Ford Expedition 2023 will be a bold vehicle that can easily fit your whole family. If you’re looking for a new SUV that can carry people and cargo with good performance and sleek looks, then the Ford Expedition is the car for you.

The Ford Expedition is often referred to as Ford’s largest SUV. This is true but specific to a specific vehicle version: the Ford Expedition Max.

This vehicle is one foot longer than the titanic Ford Expedition, offering seating for up to eight people. Even your tall friend will have plenty of room in the third row.

The rest of this article will lay out what we can expect from the Ford Expedition and Expedition Max 2023.

We’ll take a look at the projected specs, interior configuration, trim possibilities, and 2023 redesign news. As for the release date, we expect Expedition 2023 to be publicly available in Fall 2022.

While we don’t have specific confirmation of the powertrain available for the 2023 Ford Expedition, we’ll be speculating a bit based on the 2022 version of the engine options. Each version of this excellent people-carrier Ford has a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine, but there are different tuning options to be had.

Entry-level trims like the Ford Expedition XLT get 380 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque from this powertrain.

Limited models and other high-level trims enjoy different tuning that increases output to 400 pounds and 480 pound-feet of torque. There is a final option, available on the Timberline trim and other models with the Stealth Package, which increases horsepower to 440 and torque to 510 pound-feet.

One of the possible changes to engine options for this new model year is the addition of the Ford Expedition 2023 hybrid model.

More Ford vehicles have added hybrid technology in recent years, and there are rumors that the Expedition will soon join the group. This would be welcome news, as hybrid cars help you save at the pump.

Either of these options is quite interesting. The warm growl of the twin-turbo V-6 will excite you and your passengers and can envy passers-by.

The 2022 Ford Expedition has a towing capacity of up to 9,200 pounds1, while the Expedition Max reaches 9,000 pounds. 1 Ford Expedition or Expedition Max 2023 any version can take you, your family, and the family boat on a weekend getaway.

Ford Expedition Hybrid 2023

In the 2023 Expedition Hybrid the previous year, you might expect Ford’s F-150 Powerboost hybrid powertrain to debut on the Expedition, but it didn’t.

There are no 2023 Ford Expedition Hybrid offers. Instead, two engines were offered – a standard and high-output version of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost.

The Timberline gets a more powerful 3.5-liter twin-turbo twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine, which produces 440 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. torque and mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Ford Expedition Update

The 2023 Ford Expedition is expected to receive a round of updates on the 2022 model. The last expedition was redesigned for the 2018 model year when it moved to an aluminum-dense platform and was derived from the latest Ford F-150.

That reduced the weight substantially on some models, and, with the continuation of dropping put the turbocharged V6 instead of the rival V8 making the Expedition fast and slightly more efficient than other very large SUVs.

Revisions for 2022 include moderate styling changes along the lines of the latest F-150, including changes to the grille and exterior lighting, along with new wheel options. A new dashboard design was also introduced.

The most significant change, along with the improved material, is the new infotainment system. A 12-inch touchscreen is standard, but the portrait-oriented 15.5-inch version is optional and both use the latest Sync 4 system.

Later in the model year, Ford introduced the Timberline edition. Available only in standard length, the Expedition Timberline has a different grille and exterior trim than the rest, along with 33-inch all-terrain tires and a higher ride height.

Trim levels for 2022 are XLT STX, XLT, Limited, Timberline, King Ranch, and Platinum.

The Limited can be equipped with a Stealth Package that increases horsepower and uses 22-inch wheels with stiffer suspension. All this is likely to continue until 2023.

All Expeditions are powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

It produced 380 horsepower, 400 on the Limited model, and 440 horsepower on the Timberline, and when the Limited was equipped with the Stealth Package.

In addition to the Timberline, rear-wheel drive is the standard and all-wheel drive is available.

Neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has completed crash tests on Expedition 2022, but NHTSA gave the rear-wheel drive model four stars in the side impact test and three stars in the rollover test. A maximum of five stars.

By 2022, Ford added the advanced driver assistance technology BlueCruise to the Platinum model, which can perform steering and braking assistance at road speeds.

2023 Ford Expedition Interior

The front seats of the Expedition are comfortable and soft. They have multiple zones of lumbar support and even have a massage function in the higher trims. The second-row seats are also quite luxurious. The third-row seating is sturdy but still adequate for adult use. Expedition ride quality is also quite smooth.

2023 Ford Expedition

We were less than impressed with the Expeditions climate control. The airflow from the vents is noisy and not very strong. The seat heaters may also be a disappointment if you really want them to be hot. On the bright side, Expeditions is very quiet on the highway and around town.

Expeditions make full use of its interior space. It’s roomier than the Chevy Tahoe and gives each passenger plenty of space and comfort. The accessibility of the third row is so impressive that even adults can get in and out without more effort than it would take to sit in the second row.

The center console is a bit heavy on the buttons. It’s not immediately easy to use, but it doesn’t take too much time to get the hang of it. It’s a simpler layout than Tahoe too. Visibility from the front is hampered by a large windshield pillar. But even though the rear window is visible for a mile, the clear backup camera and available 360-degree camera system take advantage of the backup.

The Expedition has a registered cargo capacity of 20.9 cubic feet behind the third row, 57.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 104.6 cubic feet max. That’s less space than its direct rival, the Chevy Tahoe. But the Expedition’s extra space for all your knick-knacks, plus its flexible seating arrangements, more than compensate.

Expeditions are also a good vehicle for transporting small children. It has an easily accessible anchor for the safety seat plus plenty of room to fit a rear-facing seat. Towing capacity is excellent with a maximum capacity of 9,300 pounds when properly equipped.

The Ford Expedition has seating for up to eight. The 2022 Expedition comes standard with Ford’s easy-to-use SYNC 4, or you can add the SYNC 4A with its 15.5-inch high-definition touchscreen.

The system can also add over-the-air updates to Expeditions. You can order Bang & Olufsen sound systems and backseat entertainment with Amazon Fire TV.

For driver safety, Expedition added Road Edge Detection, which functions like lane-keep assist, and Intersection Assist, which uses the front camera to monitor traffic and can brake if necessary.

It adds some other driver assistance as well, which could come in handy on this truly massive SUV. It’s 6.7 feet wide, the Max (long) version is 18.5 feet long, and weighs 5,600 pounds.

The Max can also accommodate 79.6 cubic feet of cargo in the back or a cargo van that rivals the 121.5 cubic feet behind the first row.

2023 Ford Expedition Tech

The Ford Sync infotainment system has evolved a lot over the years, and the latest iteration is quite user-friendly. The navigation system does look a bit outdated but offers pinch-to-zoom functionality, helping to make it fast and easy to use. Our test vehicle’s 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system makes good use of the Expedition’s large cab, delivering power and clarity.

Voice control is basic and can help with simple functions. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration systems come standard with wireless connectivity. The Expedition’s advanced driver aids, such as adaptive cruise control, work well but are not as full-featured as those in some rival SUVs.

2023 Ford Expedition Exterior

A few sneak peeks we saw revealed a large cargo space inside with 3 rows of seats, folding seats and wood/leather trim throughout. Higher trims tend to offer a satin/aluminum exterior trim. The front seats are also ventilated with massage features.

As for the exterior, we can report that the Ford Expedition 2023 will be a force to be reckoned with from its looks. Platinum is also likely to offer a roof railing with bars and some other high-quality amenities.

It also looks taller when viewed from the rear suspension and the lower swing arm which looks stronger.

The skid plate hints at some plans to adapt the truck for off-road and wheels resembling the 2021 Timberline are also present. There are also hints that the new headlights, grille, lower fascia and bumper will give it an all-new look.

2023 Ford Expedition Timberline

The new Expedition harnesses the power of the tough Expedition. After all, it’s based on the formidable Ford F-150 pickup.

So, ford used many of the truck’s tricks, like its two-speed transfer box, to create a custom Timberline trim that added lots of off-road goodies like 32-inch tires, premium off-road shocks, factory lift, limited-slip differential electronics, and hiss drop control.

They start at $70,450 and you can find them in the wild with their red tow hooks and protective armor.

The Timberline has an underbody skid plate for that heavy-duty truck. It also adds a new suspension, and the Bronco’s Trail Turn Assist, which will brake the inner wheels on the ground to help the Big Expedition make tighter corners.

Even with that help, the Timberline is too big to make a narrow lane, according to The Car Connection. It comes with the same twin-turbo 2.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine as the Raptor.

2023 Ford Expedition Trim

The Expedition’s six trim levels — XL, XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum — each have something to offer. Which you think is best will depend on what you want from a full-size SUV.

With the entry-level XL, you get a very impressive list of features at an affordable price. This includes smartphone-friendly infotainment, LED headlights, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety aids. The XL is also the only Expeditionary with seating for five passengers, maximizing cargo space.

Step up to the XLT for eight-passenger seating and some added comfort. Three-zone automatic climate control and an extra USB port help create an extremely travel-friendly people carrier.

The Timberline, introduced for the 2022 model year, is the Expedition’s new trail-friendly trim model. It augments the XLT lineup with powerful performance enhancements, including an off-road-tuned suspension and electronic limited-slip differential.

Timberline even enhances your comfort, with power-adjustable front seats and a heated leather steering wheel.

Choose the Limited, King Ranch, or Platinum model, and you’ll have a truly luxurious ride. The Limited has all the capabilities of a luxury SUV, from leather upholstery to a panoramic sunroof.

King Ranch puts a stylish twist on upscale cruising, with Western-themed trimmings like Del Rio leather seating and Stone Gray exterior trim.

If you’re looking for the most luxurious options, you’ll find them in the top-tier Platinum. The expedition is certainly luxurious, with wood and leather interior trim and front seats with massage functions.

2023 Ford Expedition Engine

As always, the upcoming Expedition will deliver a smooth and powerful performance. This full-size SUV has long been a favorite among families with boats to tow and campers to haul, with a max tow rating of up to 9,300 pounds.

Just like last year, Expeditions will offer:

  • Turbocharged 3.5L V6 (375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque)
  • 10-speed automatic transmission
  • Rear wheel drive
  • Optional four-wheel drive
  • A more powerful version of this turbocharged engine comes standard on the
  • Platinum, producing 400 horses and 480 pound-feet of torque. And a more powerful version is available for the off-road-ready Timberline trim (or any
  • Expedition with Stealth Package), increasing the total output to 440 horses and 510 pound-feet of torque.

2023 Ford Expedition MPG

The Expedition gets an EPA estimate of 19 mpg in combined city/highway driving. That’s similar to what the EPA posted for other big SUVs. But we had a hard time matching the EPA figures in our real-world testing. Another thing to consider is that premium fuel is required to get quoted power numbers. While using the Expedition, we were able to see the difference in performance between regular and premium fuel.

For a Platinum Expedition Max with a fully charged long wheelbase, you can pay around $80,000. If you have more space within your budget, consider Expeditions’ luxury cousin, Lincoln Navigator.

The three-line XLT starts at $57,835 and rises to top-tier Platinum at $79,460. The expanded 2023 Ford Expedition Max version of every model except the XLT STX and Timberline adds $2,000.

2023 Ford Expedition The Ford Expedition is one SUV that can do it all. This is a great family carrier with three rows of incredibly spacious seats, plus plenty of cargo space. It also has truck-like capabilities with a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds with its twin-turbo V6 engine.

The Expedition just got a thorough update for 2022 with refreshed styling, new Timberline and Stealth trims, and major tech updates, including the BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system.

For this reason, we expect the 2023 Expedition to be a carryover model without significant changes. The model range, price, and powertrain options should be pretty much the same as the 2022 model.

With two wheelbases and a variety of trims available such as the off-road-ready Timberline, the luxurious Platinum, and the more affordable lower trim, there’s an Expedition for everyone on the market for a full-size SUV that can haul the whole family while towing a boat without breaking a sweat.

What’s New For 2023 Ford Expedition

From the provisional forecast that we’ve got from some of the information reported over the last few months, Ford Expeditions is getting ready to undergo some changes for the 2023 model year.

2023 Ford Expedition

We hope the Ford 2023 Expedition receives mid-cycle action (a.k.a. refresher) consisting of a revised styling and powertrain. additional hybrids, and updates to the interior.

The 2023 Ford Expedition will likely receive an update that will include a revised exterior with new front and rear designs and a revised interior including a new infotainment system with a large vertically oriented display similar to the 15.5-inch unit used in the Mach-E Ford Mustang.

Also, we can expect more so that the 2023 Ford Expedition will get better in the future.

Looking at the current Ford Expedition, the SUV is number one to buy, even if it feels a bit dated compared to rivals like the newly refurbished Chevy Tahoe. But to defend the crown, the 2023 Ford Expedition is getting a new look, inside and out.

Many of our high hopes for the 2023 Ford Expedition and both Lincoln Navigators appear to be getting an update to their infotainment system, with Expeditions (above) featuring the Mach-E 15.5-inch Mustang infotainment display.

The 2023 Ford Expedition reveals it will have a rougher finish, perhaps referred to as the Timberline. Apart from that, the front bumper may have a new look. The rear also gets new bumpers and taillights.

2023 Ford Expedition Preview

Is Ford Expedition A Good Car As we know the 2023 Ford Expedition will continue as a full-size two- or three-row body-on-frame SUV with two body styling configurations: Expedition 210 inches (standard length), and Max Expedition 222 inches? (extended length). Is Ford Expedition A Good Car

In terms of powertrains, we expect the 2023 Ford Expedition to continue with the Ford 3.5L EcoBoost V6 petrol motor as the standard powerhouse, perhaps with some modifications to its configuration to match the higher output on the 2021 Ford F-150, where it generates 400 power. horse and 500 pound-feet of torque.

It doesn’t stop there we also hope the 2023 Ford Expedition adds new hybrid powertrain options, similar to the 3.5L PowerBoost V6 that debuted on the 2021 Ford F-150.

In the 2021 F-150, the engine can produce 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. The 10-speed automatic will be the only transmission offered for both engines.

Ford Expedition Redesign 2023

We expect the long-term 2023 Ford Expedition and Expedition Max to be offered in XL (fleet-only), XL STX, XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trim levels.

In addition, we expect Ford to introduce an off-road-oriented trim level, dubbed the Timberline, into its product lineup for 2023, likely positioned between the XLT and Limited trims.

As far as we are concerned the 2023 Ford Expedition will continue to use the same Ford T3 platform as the 2021 model, which is used with the Lincoln Navigator.

It will continue to be produced at the Ford Kentucky Truck plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and we expect the 2023 Ford Expedition to launch in the last quarter of 2022. The updated model is likely to be announced in the summer of 2022.

And no less interesting, the updated 2023 Ford Expedition will feature a new off-road-focused variant (Timberline Expedition?) That’s even tougher than the Expedition equipped with the FX4 Off-Road Package.

This latest prototype is fitted with Goodyear Wrangler AT / S tires, which appear to be stronger than the Michelin-branded off-road rubber that comes with the FX4 Off-Road package. The front and rear fascia also appear to have better approach and departure angles than normal.

What Is The Difference Between Ford Expedition Xlt And Limited

As far as we are aware the significant difference is the automatic high beam headlights, pre-collision assistance, and reverse sensor are present on the XLT, but Limited added blind-spot monitoring with rear traffic alerts. It will also be upgraded to an 8-inch screen (from a 4-inch screen).

2023 Ford Expedition Specs

The next-generation 2023 Ford Expedition is expected to deliver more power than the turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, although Ford offers two power ratings.

The entry-level model delivers 375 horsepower (279 kilowatts) and 470 pound-feet (637 Newton-meters) of torque.

The power to increase may be 400 hp (298 kW) and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm). A 10-speed automatic gearbox is standard equipment for both horsepower ratings, and power is not expected to change.

The 2023 Ford Expedition is expected to receive the hybrid powertrain that the automaker introduced for the 2021 F-150.

2023 Ford Expedition Interior

The interior of the 2023 Ford Expedition is sure to come soon to get an update. They will be the most spectacular updates of the year.

We can assure you that many of the loyal users of the Ford Expedition family will be delighted with the 2023 Ford Expedition update.

The 2023 Ford Expedition center-stack is sure to be a great move to update which features a large, portrait-oriented touchscreen that serves as an infotainment hub. It looks elegant and makes this vehicle powerful in the technology infotainment session.

Talking about in-car technology the new 2023 Ford Expedition will give it what it needs to challenge challengers in its class who also have better interiors.

2023 Ford Expedition Engine

It remains unclear what Ford plans for powertrains on the 2023 Ford Expedition vehicle but a good bet is the availability of the same hybrid powertrain introduced in the associated F-150 PowerBoost.

The powertrain combines a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine with an integrated electric motor with a 10-speed automatic transmission and delivers 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque.

The Expedition is currently offered exclusively with a 3.5 liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that churns out 375 hp and 470 lb-ft in standard form and 400 hp and 480 lb-ft in Platinum form.

Ford Expedition Hybrid

Technically, the F-150, Explorer, and Escape have become hybrids. In addition, the Ford F-150 EV and Mustang Mach-E have gone one step further by using electricity. So it could be that the Ford Expedition will be in 2023 and this is the next logical step.

The 2023 Ford Expedition could just get the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine currently offered on the PowerBoost Ford F-150. It pumps 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. Also, in the F-150, it gets an EPA rating of 25 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Ford Expedition Engine Options

Still not official 2023 Ford Expedition In terms of powertrains, we expect the 2023 Ford Expedition to continue with the Ford 3.5L EcoBoost V6 petrol motor as the standard powerhouse, perhaps with some modifications to its configuration to match the higher output of the 2021 Ford F-150, where it produces 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.

2023 Ford Expedition Price

Estimated prices for the 2023 Ford Expedition are currently not officially available.

We will be aware of any possible changes that are expected soon, but we anticipate the SUV remains close to the current model range from $ 52,690 to $ 76,470 excluding destination costs.

We expect the Ford Expedition 2023 price to start at around $51,000 for the base, standard-wheelbase model. For a fully loaded long-wheelbase Expedition Platinum Max, you can pay around $80,000. If you have more room in your budget, consider Expedition’s luxury cousin, the Lincoln Navigator.

The Ford Expedition’s closest rival is the Chevrolet Tahoe. For the Expedition Max with its long wheelbase, it’s a Chevrolet Suburban. The full-size Chevy SUVs are priced the same as their Ford counterparts.

The big difference is that the Chevrolet model offers a choice of two V8 or turbo-diesel engines under the hood. In contrast, the only engine option at Ford is the powerful twin-turbo V6 which is available with a few different setups.

2023 Expedition Release Date

The 2023 Ford Expedition will represent the first year of the updated next-generation model launched for the 2018 model year.

Given the current cadence of products, we expect the updated model to last until the 2025 model year, which will likely represent the final year of the next generation. After that, a completely redesigned Expedition will replace it.

We will have more on the 2023 Ford Expedition very soon, so please stay tuned for this website.
