The 2026 Raptor R comes standard with 37-inch tires, which add 1.1 inches of ground clearance, bringing the Raptor R’s undercarriage to 13.0 inches above the ground. Every Raptor rides on a sophisticated suspension that includes Fox internal-bypass dampers and a five-link rear coil-over spring setup.

2026 Ford Raptor EcoBoost V-6

The F-150 Raptor’s standard engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. It is channeled through a 10-speed automatic transmission to 4WD. With this engine, the Raptor accelerates to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Fuel economy should be around 14/18 mpg city/highway.

2026 Ford Raptor R Supercharged V-8

The 2026 Ford Raptor RR’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine produces 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. This machine is connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission with 4WD. Created in collaboration with Vaughn Gittin Jr., the F-150 Lightning Switchgear is just a demonstration showcasing the off-road potential of an EV powertrain,n but Ford is using it as a test bed for the inevitable F-electric—150 birds of prey.

2026 Ford Raptor Payload

Speaking of payload, the 2026 Ford Raptor R can tow up to 8,700 pounds, while the standard Raptor’s maximum towing capacity is 8,200 pounds. The maximum payload for both is 1,400 pounds.

Compare that to the standard F-150’s specs, and you’ll see that the Raptor has sacrificed thousands of pounds of towing capacity for off-road capability. Payload capacities range from 1,840 to 3,250 pounds on non-Raptor versions. But those variants certainly don’t look as cool as the Raptor.

For comparison: An F-150 with a 400-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 can tow up to 13,500 pounds, an F-150 with a 5.0-liter V-8 can tow 13,000 pounds, and a hybrid model can tow up to 12,700 pounds.

2026 Ford Raptor MPG

The 2026 Ford Raptor’s fuel economy is estimated by the EPA at 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway, while the Raptor R, which uses a V-8 engine as expected, has lower estimates of 10 mpg city and 15 mpg highway.

The Raptor R with 37-inch tires completed our 75 mph highway fuel consumption test with a result of 15 mpg.

2026 Ford Raptor Models

The Ford F-150 has six main trims: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and King Ranch. In addition to the standard lineup, Off-road-oriented Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R versions are also available.
