Due to increased demand and global supply chain constraints, Ford Motor Company was forced to discontinue the entry-level Bronco Base trim, and now its entry into the lineup starts at the higher $39,130 price of the Bronco Big Bend 2-Door. The 4-Door costs $39,870, and there are plenty of variations – Black Diamond, Heritage Edition, Outer Banks, Badlands, Everglades, Wildtrak, and Heritage Limited Edition (the 4-Door costs more than $71,000) – to pick a favorite.
As a result, with two- and four-door variants, several special editions, and a host of trims, you’d assume everyone would be satisfied. Even the powertrain choices are impressive: the 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four turbo engine can be had with a seven-speed manual transmission instead of the ten-speed 10R60 automatic, and there are two possible EcoBoost V6s. If the EcoBoost’s 300 and 330 horsepower aren’t enough, the $89,835 Bronco Raptor has at least 400 and 418 hp in Baja mode!
However, there is a threat on the horizon. Stellantis has finally upgraded its iconic Jeep Wrangler for the 2024 model year, and it’s priced at ‘only’ a little over $32k. Plus, even though the Toyota 4Runner may seem older than the Earth itself, it’s still competition to be reckoned with – especially if the rumors are true and the Japanese automaker introduces a new generation for the 2025 model year.
As a result, Ford might at least follow Jeep’s lead and give the Bronco a proper facelift for the 2025 model year. But don’t worry if that doesn’t happen in real life; the inventive arena of digital car content providers has addressed this—even if only electronically. YouTube channel AutomagzPro has some AI-assisted CGI thoughts on the facelift, which they combined with the long-rumored Ford Bronco Hybrid SUV to make the unofficial announcement even more interesting.
Frankly, it’s anyone’s guess whether Ford will make any major changes to the design when the mid-cycle update is revealed – the channel’s pixel master provides at least two different possibilities for revised LED headlights and taillights. Ford has made a big commitment to electrifying its truck and SUV lineup, and offering a plug-in hybrid option on one of its most popular vehicles is a big step in this direction. One of our main complaints with the revival of the Ford Bronco is the vehicle’s abysmal fuel economy. Adding a plug-in hybrid option would be an interesting alternative to the current EcoBoost engine lineup.
Ford’s full-size Bronco is built on a modified version of the company’s T6 platform and was designed from the start with hybrid electrification in mind. During the engineering phase, the SUV’s front axle mounting location was moved forward about 2 inches compared to the Ranger platform to make room for the necessary hybrid hardware.
We expect the 2025 Ford Bronco PHEV to be powered by the company’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine and backed by a 10-speed modular hybrid transmission. The battery will likely be around 18 kWh, which could give the Bronco an all-electric driving range of around 30 miles, depending on trim, tires, and other details.
We also expect the 2025 Ford Bronco PHEV to launch on a high-volume model in a four-door configuration. We also anticipate prices falling just below the maximum threshold for the federal clean vehicle tax credit, allowing the 2025 Ford Bronco PHEV to qualify for the full $7,500 rebate.

Like other 2025 Ford Bronco Off-road vehicles, getting in and out of the Bronco requires a decent step up or down, but plenty of handrails throughout the cabin help. We would have preferred the front grab bars placed on the windshield pillars instead of the dashboard, but they would come in handy in a pinch.
On the inside of the 2025 Ford Bronco, a wide range of adjustments for the driver’s seat and steering wheel will ensure that all controls and gauges are within easy view. We appreciate the large, chunky physical controls, and their size and placement make them easy to see and use when wearing gloves.
Plenty of headroom makes the Bronco’s interior feel spacious. This feeling continues in the back seats, even in two-door models, but accessing those seats in the two-door Bronco can feel like a squeeze because the front seats don’t slide forward far enough.
Ford’s Sync 3
The Bronco Sport’s current infotainment system is outdated. It still runs Ford’s Sync 3 software and sports a small 8.0-inch touchscreen.
A 2024 Mustang prototype has been photographed testing what appears to be Sync 4 and a new 13.2-inch curved display. Another software option could be Ford’s new Digital Experience infotainment system, which debuts with the 2025 Explorer.
The Bronco Sport may receive changes to the off-road mode. We anticipate the Bronco Sport Prototype being seen on Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires. (Fun fact: the Bronco’s tires are labeled “Goodyear Goodyear” to avoid identification with any particular Jeep).
These tires are not the same as those seen on the current top-of-the-line Badlands off-road option Bronco Sport. Whether the Badlands trim will be upgraded or Ford intends to offer a higher trim level is unclear.
Tech
Bronco offers a collection of advanced driver aids. Customizable driving modes also make optimizing the SUV’s traction easy, depending on the type of road surface you’re traveling on. Unfortunately, some driver aids, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, didn’t operate as smoothly as those on some rival SUVs.
The 2025 Ford Bronco also benefits from Ford’s latest infotainment and connectivity software. The center screen offers crisp graphics and easy integration with Android and Apple smartphones, whether you want to go wired or wireless. The stereo in our test vehicle had difficulty masking road noise at freeway speeds.
Comfort
While far from a luxury vehicle, we believe the 2025 Ford Bronco is even more comfortable on the road than the comparable Jeep Wrangler, its closest competitor. The Bronco’s seats have better support and enough adjustability to reduce fatigue on long highway trips.
Its truck-based construction means it has a slightly firmer and bouncier ride than other SUVs, but that’s not enough to make you not want to drive it.
Dual-zone climate control allows you to adjust the intensity of the automatic settings, and the available heated front seats kick in very quickly, which is especially nice if you open the doors on a cold day.
The 2025 Ford Bronco’s removable hardtop lets in significant wind noise at almost any speed, lowering its score in this category. During our off-road testing, there were also some rattles and vibrations.
Storage
The 2025 Ford Bronco’s larger size than the Wrangler results in a larger interior with more cargo volume. The Bronco’s rear swing door opens to the passenger side and stays in place thanks to a brace.
The rear window folds down easily on hardtop models, but the soft top can’t be opened very far and requires a support bar to keep it up. Interior storage options are adequate, with plenty of cup holders, suitable nooks, and crannies for personal items.
We believe the new model 2025 Ford Bronco can tow up to 3,500 pounds. That’s enough for a small trailer but less than what the Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner can tow. All Broncos can be towed flatly (all four wheels on the ground).
2025 Ford Bronco Exterior
The exterior of the 2025 Ford Bronco is designed to withstand the toughest terrains. Its high ground clearance, sturdy suspension, and off-road tires make it a formidable companion on any adventure.

Of course, as time passes, the Bronco Sport will need to be refreshed soon. A prototype of this smaller, ahem, Built Wild (Ford Bronco brand motto) SUV has been spotted testing.
Here’s what we know so far about the facelifted 2025 Bronco Sport.
Update
The baby Bronco is sporting big, powerful Goodyear all-terrain tires and a horizontal look. The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is set for a mid-cycle facelift, which could include a larger touchscreen and new off-road options. With a disguised prototype roaming the streets, our spy photographers picked up some interesting elements anticipating significant modifications to the baby Bronco.
A camouflaged Ford Bronco Sport prototype was spotted with a large touchscreen that resembles the Ford Mustang’s 13.2-inch Sync 4 system. The Bronco Sport also has Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, which differ from the Falken WildPeak tires on the current Badlands variant.
While the spy photos we obtained don’t show any obvious additional modifications, we expect some styling revisions for the 2025 model year.

Prototypes
Ford has been spotted testing prototypes for the updated Bronco Sport, and some test vehicles saw improvements that suggest a more off-road competent version of the compact crossover is in development.
Badlands is now the most capable Bronco Sport. Ford now provides a Black Diamond Off-Road Package for the Big Bend and Outer Banks grades. More off-road competent variants will probably be classified as a new class.
The prototype is carefully hidden but can be seen with new fascias at the front and rear. It can be engineered to increase approach and departure angles and possibly accommodate larger skid plates. Some prototypes have better ground clearance than the regular Bronco Sport’s 8.8 inches.
Another important clue is the choice of tires. Some prototypes were equipped with Goodyear Territory RT tires instead of the Falken Wildpeak AT tires currently available on the Bronco Sport. The tires are also wrapped in a new rim design that resembles the tough style featured on the New Mustang Mach-E Rally 2024.
A look inside reveals the updated dashboard design. The current model’s 8.0-inch infotainment screen is gone. In its place is a much larger screen in landscape mode. It will likely be 13.2 inches, which matches the screen available on top Ford Escape models.
A dual-ended exhaust is also seen, although the design is just a temporary unit used for testing and will change as development continues.
The Bronco Sport is currently available with a 1.5-liter turbo-3 with 181 hp or a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with 250 hp. There are rumors of a hybrid option, but it’s unclear if that’s what’s being tried here.
The redesigned Bronco Sport will debut next year as a 2025 model. If Ford plans a new Bronco Sport model, it will likely launch alongside the rest of the revised model lineup.
Larger Touchscreen
The Bronco Sport shares a base with the Ford Escape, which has received numerous changes for the 2023 model year, including a new 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The same display, which features Ford’s Sync 4 software, debuted on the new-for-2024 Mustang and now appears to be making its way to the Bronco Sport’s dashboard.
The new touchscreen is significantly larger than the 8.0-inch Sync 3 display that is now standard on all Bronco Sport trim levels. While we don’t know for sure, the smaller display is likely to stay standard on lower-spec models, as is the case with the Escape series.
The Bronco Sport’s extra-wide touchscreen takes up the space previously occupied by vertically oriented air vents. That means they’ll be shifted lower along the center stack, most likely horizontally. It remains to be seen whether the HVAC controls will be altered.
New Goodyear Wrangler tyres.
As it stands, the Bronco Sport Badlands is the most off-road-focused variant. It now sports Falken WildPeak all-terrain tires in size 235/65R-17 and exclusive dirt-specific hardware.
The prototypes we saw had a different sort of A/T rubber, which could indicate that Ford would launch a new model or special edition, possibly dubbed Everglades or Wildtrak. These two models are positioned above the Badlands in Ford’s full-size Bronco lineup.
More specifically, the infant Bronco was equipped with Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, which are the same size as the WildPeak. As with its bigger sibling, the term Wrangler has been deleted from the sidewall to avoid mentioning the Bronco’s rival, the Jeep Wrangler.
Ford has not provided any formal information regarding a Bronco Sport facelift. We expect the improvements to be announced in 2024 for the 2025 model year.

The Ford Bronco Sport launched for the 2021 model year as a more rugged, off-road competent crossover with a reasonable price tag and a long history. Since then, the Bronco Sport has seen only minor improvements over the years, including the usual additions and deletions of colors, the overhaul of certain trim levels, and the inclusion of new variants and packages. On the other hand, Ford Authority has spotted testing a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands model with some interesting features.
The most striking feature of this 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands prototype is its height, as this crossover has much higher performance than other models in the lineup. Underneath, beefy-looking tires take advantage of the higher ride height, complementing this crossover’s beefier ambitions.
As a result, it makes sense that this prototype indicates Ford is considering developing a new, more capable version of the Bronco Sport, perhaps one that sits above the Badlands in the lineup. On non-Sport Bronco, this model is known as the Bronco Raptor.

So far, Automotive News reported in 2021 that the Bronco Hybrid model will get a hybrid option, possibly in 2024. Thanks to the C2 platform shared by the Bronco Sport and several other cars, Ford already has several potential solutions in mind.
